Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed as Reviews Come In

The initial Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed, as the reviews embargo on the movie has lifted. It’s looking like good news for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it enters Phase 5, ahead of Quantumania’s theatrical launch on February 17, 2023. Many of the early reviews are positive, but the MCU film may just miss out on that coveted “fresh” certification.

The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Rotten Tomatoes score stands at 64% at the time of writing. This is the initial score for the movie on the reviews aggregate website, after 39 reviews. It should be expected to fluctuate a little in the coming hours and days, as more reviews are uploaded. While it is a good score, it’s lower than many would have expected, and it has failed to match up to the last MCU movie release, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Comicbook gave the film a score of 4/5, calling it “the weirdest and most wholehearted chapter in the MCU’s essential storytelling.” The Wrap added that Quantumania “offers threats both immediate and long-range, making it satisfactory as both an individual movie and as a preview for what’s to come.” They did however note, that “the biggest shrinkage on display here happens to Evangeline Lilly’s barely-there Wasp character.”

Roger’s Movie Nation was a little less impressed, giving Quantumania a score of 1.5/4. They say that while “fans will find more in this” than others, “it’s just a time-killer, fitfully amusing tedium,” which is “much ado about a lot of microscopic nothing.” Looper, delivering a score of 4/10, said that the film “feels less like an actual movie and more an excuse to get to the next movie that itself may or may not feel like an actual movie.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is available to watch in theaters from Friday, February 17, 2023.
