Van Gogh Pikachu in Grey Felt Hat Promo Card Pokemon Center Orders Canceled

Pokemon Center Van Gogh Pikachu With Grey Felt Hat Orders Are Reportedly Being Canceled

Some social media users report that their orders for the Van Gogh Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat promo card have been canceled. The card, previously exclusive to Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum, became available on the Pokemon Center website on October 17 as a freebie with any Trading Card Game merchandise orders over $30. However, despite stating that it would be available until October 31, the offer was only live an hour before it went out of stock, and now it seems like it may have been oversold, leading to cancelations.

VG Promo Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat promo cards canceled for some Pokemon Center buyers

Some users on Reddit who managed to snag a Van Gogh Pikachu card are reporting that it was removed from their Pokemon Center orders without notice while the rest of the merchandise was shipped. Others state that parts of their orders were canceled, and the Pikachu card still shipped despite the remaining items totaling under $30. As of writing, The Pokemon Company hasn’t issued an official explanation, and it’s unclear how many users are affected.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the Van Gogh Pikachu card has skirted controversy. It was originally offered for free to those visiting the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. However, after scalpers assaulted the gift shop in a violent frenzy to buy items to resell, the museum and The Pokemon Company announced that the promo card would no longer be available on-site.

While the card won’t be available at the museum again, Pokemon x Van Gogh merchandise is set to return to the museum at some point.

The Van Gogh Pikachu card is super popular, mixing both art and Pokémon in a fantastic way. It’s no surprise that everyone wants one. After all the confusion and canceled orders, people are hoping that the Pokémon Company will sort things out. Unfortunately, everyone’s just waiting for some clear info on what’s happening next, and this just adds one more complication to the disastrous collaboration.
