Pokemon Go Best Team to Use Against Giovanni and Beat Him

Pokemon Go: Best Team Against Giovanni

You’ll want to choose the best team against Giovanni you can in Pokemon Go, as he’s one of the few NPC trailers in the game that can be tough to beat. He has a team of powerful Pokemon, and is currently the most challenging opponent in the game. Fortunately, he’s not all that tough once you assemble a team of Pokemon based around his weaknesses.

How to Beat Giovanni in Pokemon Go

Beating Giovanni in Pokemon Go can be tough because he uses a wildcard Pokemon in the second round. His roster includes:

  • Phase 1: Persian
  • Phase 2: Nidoking, Rhyperior or Garchomp
  • Phase 3: Shadow Regigigas.

To beat him, use the following strategy:

Phase 1

Giovanni will always start with Persian. Use a Fighting-type Pokemon to defeat it quickly.

Phase 2

Giovanni’s second Pokemon will be Nidoking, Rhyperior, or Garchomp. Use the appropriate counters to defeat it. For example, if Giovanni sends out Nidoking, use a Water-type or Ground-type Pokemon. If he sends out Rhyperior, use a Grass-type or Water-type Pokemon. And if he sends out Garchomp, use an Ice-type or Dragon-type Pokemon.

Phase 3

Giovanni’s third and final Pokemon will be Shadow Regigigas. Use a Fighting-type Pokemon to defeat it. Shadow Regigigas is particularly weak to Fighting-type attacks, so you should have no trouble defeating it with a strong Fighting-type Pokemon like Terrakion or Machamp.

Here is a team that you can use to defeat Giovanni:

  • Terrakion (Fighting)
  • Kyogre (Water)
  • Galarian Darmanitan (Ice)
